Silk Pillows by Michele Varian
I have not seen Michele in a long while, but what I do see is that her sense of style and love of luxury has not changed one bit. Along with her growing website, she also has a brand new Interior Styling service.
Michele Varian is both a person and a store. The store is filled with gorgeous home furnishings made from the finest materials in the most current fashion colors. From her website I see that she has also added unique lighting and furniture to her repitoire of wonderful things.
This table setting is so innovative, I can’t say that I have seen a set like this anywhere else. A collection of this nature allows for a continuous theme without the threat of “matchy match”… oh how I despise those matching sets.
She’s right on target with these “Nomad” inspired silk pillows… this fabric is just stunning.
I met Michele in her store located at 35 Crosby Street many moons ago. When I lived in New York and owned my own store just a few blocks away we would meet and hang out after work. I have always loved her products, her taste level is extraordinary. The pillows in her collection are made from the finest silks, stuffed with feathers and have side ties fashioned from leather and silk. It’s the side tie that makes these pillows so signature Michele V.

This photo makes me home sick, I miss those wide downtown streetscapes. But this squirrel lamp brings me back to my senses, how cute is she?! What I love most about Michele, second to her glowing personality; is her passion for unique finds.
I want these cool shelves for my own home. I have seen “hodge podge” versions of this look, but what I like here is that all of the “shelves” are the same style.
Nick nack, paddy whack, give me all that stuff… she even has toys for kids.
I can go on and on about this store, here is another shelf full of gorgeous pillows.

Keys and porcelain are the “caviar and diamonds” of the decorating world.
Michele Varian also carries a tastefully selected collection of hand crafted jewelry. Old keys are so in fashion right now, hang one or two off a silk cord and you’ve got a great necklace.
If you live in the New York metropolitan area or are just passing through, this small bit of paradise in SOHO is well worth a visit. Michele’s store is never boaring and always inspiring.
