Here we are again on the subject of wallpaper, not my favorite thing but it seems to be around these days so I am going to address it. This time I have found paper with an interesting twist, wallpaper that looks like wood, stone and brick. I can almost envision hanging this stuff somewhere…but where?!
Here’s a wood patterned paper also know as “Faux Bois” which is fake wood in French. I think this effect would work well as an accent in a larger design situation, maybe inside a niche or on just one section of a wall.
Stone patterned wall paper
I like the chimney effect that it has here.
The top two photos shown here are from Target and they do not ship to Israel but If you are interested in getting this look, Wallpaper Borders Discount is a source that will ship internationally after giving a shipping quote.
These brick papers could pass for the real mccoy…

* I “secretly” admit that I like the brick!
Wallpaper that looks like…
I prefer my wallpaper to look like wallpaper.
The chimney effect appears to be mounted away from the wall, creating a shadow, no? I’m a bit over the wallpaper thing but I actually quite like that.
I am sure that this is a “staged photo” set up specifically for this ad (it looks like a piece of covered foam core…), however applying wallpaper to a column or chimney as shown here is an easy way to add depth to an otherwise plain and maybe even unsightly protrusion. In the case of patterened wallpaper it is a matter of personal taste.
With all this said, I can actually see using it in a kids room or a play room where you need the safety of soft surfaces but still get the added effect of the pattern.
