Can’t get to the forest? Then let nature come to you. This custom made iron bed by Shawn Lovell is a clear illustration of the nature trend that is happening right now in home furnishings. Although it is a bit pricey, $15,000.00, it is “one of a kind gorgeous”.
This room setting is furnished with birds and fauna, I love the simplicity of the duvet covers print, in good design sometimes “less is more”. Birds have been a popular theme for some time now, I have seen them in top designer collections like the Dwell Studio’s bedding shown above.
What a chic looking humming bird, love this whimsical tray by Michele Varian. Robert Louis Tiffany is know for his glamorous stained glass lamp shades. Here is a beautiful example of a Tiffany lamp that incorporates the twig and nature theme.
And here is a bird embellished pillow, also by Michele Varian.
This trend is so much fun, love them birds, tweet, tweet!

Trend alert: Nature motifs, especially birds

Love them but kind of wish they weren’t everywhere. Although they haven’t really hit Israel yet…
Lisa – I take it birds are the new twig?

Hehe you know I always hated the twig in vase thing…so I laugh every time you said you hate them too.
I’d say the birds are the new antlers. Which you see pretty much everywhere too. Also like them, also tired of seeing them on every design blog, also haven’t yet hit Israel. Maybe this is a good thing – we can use them here and they’ll still be fresh?
I don’t understand the trend thing for interior design. There are so many possible motifs – can’t anyone just be original and do something similar but not the same.
And the antler thing has totally jumped the shark.

congrats on making it onto apt therapy guys!

Hi Gals,
I love the trend thing! Twigs don’t bother me half as much as they do Shira and the bird motifs are right up my alley.
What would there be to write about if it weren’t for all those TRENDS?
🙂
Patti
Patti, there is definitely something to be said for trends…
BUT if I see ONE MORE spirally retro twirly black with grey embossed wallpapered bathroom wall, I am going to stab myself in the eye with a fork.
🙂
Lisa,
But then you will not see the next trend alert here on Tchochkes…!
🙂
