I am a tile enthusiast, one who absolutely adores tiles. I love them enough to have carried a big bag full home from a trip to Spain for my then mosaic habit… those were the days!
Stardust Glass Tile has some of the most beautiful hand made inventory that I have seen in a long time. This Portland, Oregon based company is also green; making all of their tiles from recycled glass that would have otherwise ended up in landfills.
Kitchen Backdrop Accent Tiles
One thing that is obviously different in these hand made tiles are the rounded edges. These tiles are made in molds as opposed to pressed, which give them a liquid feel.

Unfortunately, you can’t get Stardust Glass Tiles here in Israel, but I can offer a good resource for tiles in Tel Aviv. Top Mosaic at #17 Zecheryah Hanavi Street (@ Dizengoff) has a large, colorful selection of products to choose from. Here is an example of the shops window. These are pressed tiles, notice the squared corners.
And here’s one more Stardust Glass tile kitchen tile backdrop for the road…

I think Ceramic Tile is an excellent medium to explore both for functionality and design. Ceramic tiling is dense and strong, easy to clean, long lasting and does not absorb smell, water or carry allergens. It is excellent as a bathroom tile and it comes with knowledge it value increases more. I have tiled my whole house which was done by a very good installer Ciciliot a professional in this regards and they did their job very well.
I like that blue one on top for the bathroom. Hang a huge photographic poster of a leafy sea-dragon, starfish or dolphins, and voila! – the perfect marine-themed bathroom you can relax in after a long day.
