The rolling hills and big estates of Westchester are something to ogle over. I came upon this gated property while driving on a local side road after a recent snow storm. The property is the home of exotic animals, kind of like a mini zoo in your own back yard, so the fence is a reflection of what lies beyond.

From a distance the gate blends into the background giving it a natural fit to its surroundings. It opens from the center so the tree splits into two parts. The side gate shown below is also crafted from iron in a peacock pattern. These gates are a lovely example of the importance and aesthetic value of accenting the entrance to a home.

A small stone arch calls out a doorway. The iron work is reflective of the other gates that lie nearby.
This impressive property with its vast stone wall and iron handcrafted gates are an inspiration. I know what I am going to do to my entryway the first chance I get…!
