The new issue of Lonny Mag is live and it is AMAZING!Lonny Mag is an online magazine created by a group of editors, writers, journalists, etc living in NYC. As the media is dying and our favorite magazines are going with them, the people of Lonny Mag sought to find a solution to the problem and launch an online magazine. Literally – turning pages and everything. Which is nice, but…
Before I start the swooning I would like to give one serious complaint. The issue I posted a link for is the second issue. No where on their site did I see a link to the first issue. This is extremely limiting. Part of the point of the internet is to have information available when you need it and you can store whatever you need. It’s so counterproductive and counterintuitive to take your content off. I wasn’t pleased to find it gone.
With that said – what a fantastic issue! I’m going to India next month so I was over the moon to read “Inspiration India” – oh, the other problem with their format is that I can’t link directly to the page. You have to go to the site and find it yourself. Worth it though, trust me.
I can see the appeal of the format they have chosen. As it’s magazine-esque it has more visual possibilities then a blog for decoration and layout. However, there are so many minuses I’m not totally sure it’s worth it design-wise.
The design featured is flawless. The taste of the editors / writers / photographers is phenomenal.
I just wish I could actually pick it up and hold it…

yes, I’ve just been all over Google. I had posted this info. to Twitter a few days ago, never thinking to check and see the first issue! But that has definitely been removed from everywhere! I agree, very frustrating. Personally, I also find the navigation to be tricky, it keeps resizing when I turn pages etc.
Well, let’s be glad there IS such a magazine, right?

Hi – saw feature about Lonnymag.com in Dec Vanity Fair and have enjoyed both editions of http://www.lonnymag.com so far. I’m not Facebook or Twitter fan and I don’t see a way to be alerted of a new edition when released – is there an email subscription list? Surely you can add yourself? Believe it or not there are forty somethings who fully appreciate and utilize the online magazine format for handling ease, because it’s eco friendly waste free and provides online shopping ease , who don’t faddle their precious time away with Facebook or Twitter.
