Adi is a friend of mine whom I followed on flickr for at least two years and then met in real life by chance earlier this year. Turns out she is an architect and interior designer with major talent (of course all my friends are talented).
The apartment is on Arnon Street, off Ibn Gvirol in the “old north” of Tel Aviv. The place was a simple old Tel Aviv apartment, nothing special. Within 4 months she transformed it into what you are about to see (unfortunately there are no “before” shots, so the “after” ones will have to do).
What can I say? The wooden floors are fantastic, the windows enlightening, the feel is Tel Aviv with a little Europe mixed in. Most of the furniture is from the flea market in Jaffa and there are tasteful bits from Ikea as well. FYI, Adi is open to doing projects in Israel and abroad.
As you walk into the apartment you see this amazing transformed bathroom cabinet from the Flea market in Jaffa with a rotating exhibition of pictures, babushkas and more fun stuff. The grey-green wall off sets the cabinet really well.
Also in the entrance, a lovely piece, so typical of old Tel Aviv furniture from the flea market as well. How is that cool vintage lamp! I also love that there are a few pictures together around the table, and the light fitting creates a perfect balance.
As you enter, the living room is on the right. There are a lot of things to say about the living room, it’s so homey. I choose to point out the bookcase, because I always like a recycled piece – an old wooden cupboard painted white with a greenish tint.
And the kitchen. Love that table, it’s great for entertaining and cooking with friends. The kitchen window is made so that you can gaze outside while you’re doing the dishes. The green tiles, the lampshades…. all the colors and elements here work!
The living room is joined to the kitchen with this amazing floor to ceiling window (notice the recycled, foot stools that can be used for storage):
Here is the study. Such a peaceful space that is conducive to work.
There’s this great window seat in the study, in case you need to dream up some new ideas before you work, or take a short nap.
The bedroom is simple and elegant. The two paintings above the bed and one of the paintings in the living room were done by Tal Ben David.
The bathroom’s cupboard doors were originally in the kitchen. They were painted white and had those knobs put on them. Nice recycling. It’s important to look out for stuff like that when renovating an apartment. Try to re-use as much stuff as you can in different ways. It’s also refreshing to the eye.
Aside from the great use of wallpaper in the guest bathroom, Adi’s grandmother’s tapestries decorate the beige wall beautifully.

Very nice documentation! Did you take the pictures?
Thanks Tamir. Photos were taken by a photographer named Ron Arda.
Beautiful space!
I know Ran Arda. He is not only an extremely proffessional photograher, but also a very modest person.
WOW! I love this space. It is everything all in one, homey, cool and well designed. Thanks so much for the inspiration… I love it when my site inspires me too!!!!!

This is IMHO the best space featured on this blog so far. Absolutely gorgeous. Perfect! Those window seats are my dream, and the arrangement in the entrance is totally inspirational. I want to copy it!
Beautiful
Stunning………….absolutely stunning. You have great talent, Adi.
This is my first Israeli apartment I have seen with all wood floors, and contrast floorboards and moldings. So nice to see!
