Hederim – Store review

If you like shabby chic, country cottage, clean and simple lines, pale colors and a serene calm atmosphere then Hederim is for you.

But they don’t have a website so you just have to go there.

Actually, even if you don’t like any of the styles mentioned above you have to go there. Everyone should go there, if only to see the MOST AMAZING PAINTED CEILINGS I’ve seen in this country. It’s not the Sistine Chapel mind you, but it is an great example of the style which was so prevelant in the Jaffa south Tel Aviv area back in the day. I wish I had my camera with me when I was there (my cell phone doesn’t have a camera on it yet – I know, I’m such a primitive).

I could literally spend all day in this store, there really are that many interesting items there. My favorite was this wonderful metal bedframe that was in the stairwell just before you enter the main floor of the store. It was painted a light light blue and the edges were roughed up for an ‘aged’ look. I’ve been thinking about metal bedframes a lot lately, ever since I’ve decided that a sleigh bed would be too much for my room. One thing to know, however. Most of their dressers and such are all made out of MDF, so while they look amazing, don’t expect to pass them down to your children.

I don’t know what the metal is made out of, my husband and kids were in the car (the boys were sleeping – this was a run-in / run-out, get the postcard sort of visit) so no questions were asked.
