I came upon this old building just outside the Shuk of Pishpishime in Yaffo. There are a few reasons why I think this window treatment is great. First off, I love the color used here. It is a bright cerulean blue indigenous of the people that live in the area. So many Mediterranean cultures use this blue in their color palettes. Secondly, the thriving window boxes are an enhancement to the otherwise “shabby” condition of this building. Together the frame and the window boxes work as a team to create a decorative border. With just a few small creative touches, the ordinary becomes exceptional.
