Now that winter is “instantly” here, it’s a good time for some at home activities. I was browsing the net for new ideas for crocheting and I came across this fabulous site. Lion Brand has so many patterns to aspire to. I found many beautiful afghans that you can make yourself and get this, the patterns are FREE if you join their data base… you don’t even have to buy anything!

Creative throws
These are amazing and I assume take very many hours to make. I wonder how much one would cost on Etsy.
HI Mia,
I am a “crocheter” and it is an art form that is relaxing and theraputic… before you know it, you have something cool and usually functional that you made in no time at all! After looking at the patterns for the above throws, they don’t seem that labour intensive. I think that their beauty lies in their colors. I may even try one of these projects myself.

When I was in the army during night shifts I would do tapestries, embroideries, knitting and coloring by number posters. It was very calming and the time passed quickly. I never did learn to croche though.
It does seem that what makes these so beautiful are the colors.
With the possible exception of the last two: AAARRRGHHHHHHHH MY EYES!!!!
I know I know one man’s meat and all that…:-D
