I call them “Hallmark Holidays”( like the card company) and this is a big one for the color RED. Valentines Day is not just for chocolates and roses, you can bring some of that LOVE energy into your home by decorating with red. Sweet images like hearts and flying cherubs are one route to take, but there are so many other great ways to use this fiery color in a rooms decor.
Going all out red stimulates the eye while warming the space. I love the room featured here from The Inspired Room blog. Why not indulge yourself with this heart warming color?
Using red as an accent is a nice way to spark interest while adding pizazz. This entrance is sophisticated and vibrant.

Tips:
1) Use the whole spectrum, pink, mauve and salmon are all included.
2) Use red combined with blue or yellow to make a bold statement.
3) Go all out with red walls and accents.
4) Red is a wonderful accent for decorating, it draws attention to where ever it is placed.

Color Tip of the Week: Go red!
Wow Patti, this is very nice. Red is a tricky color to work with because when there’s just a little too much, it can ruin the whole room. That hallway is very tastefully done with just the right amount and the painting brings together the entire palette of reds as you suggested. On the other hand, the bedroom has just the maximum of red that it can stand before spilling over to bloody. It’s still very nice. Thanks!
