What would you say to a cake platter that was already precut into triangular servings?
Terrific! Aesthetically pleasing! White (it goes with any place setting) and efficient – more room on the table and less to wash up! I thought this was such a clever piece designed by ceramic artist: Hadas Ella.
Around this time every year I think about making a more interesting cheesecake for the Shavuot holidays. Forget it! It’s all in the presentation!
A complete set is made up of 10 triangles. Raise a slice and have fun eating! And I really liked her other presentations of serving ware.
Look at this chocolate truffles dish! As if they weren’t tempting enough already! Sometimes I think I’m a chocoholic , but strawberries and creme will do for me just as well.
I was surfing the net and found this Israeli artist by chance and promptly called her up.
Hadas’ designs are best put in her words:
“I create out of love for simplicity and aesthetics, while I design on the spur of the moment, inspired by different thoughts and ideas. I believe that good design raises a smile which means, ‘ I didn`t think of that.’ ”
Above is what she calls a Boat vase for a single flower. Interesting, but I’m not sure how useful.
She designs all her ceramics. But they are manufactured in China. They are available on the web from artlook, at the Bauhaus store on Dizengoff St. in Tel-Aviv and at the Tel-Aviv Port at Le’ala. Her studio is located in her home in Jerusalem.
