First things first, the URL listed for Betili in the newspaper this past weekend is WRONG. Yes, the proper way to spell Betili in English is Beitili, but that isn’t their URL – it’s Betili. Typos happen. I did send them an email about it – and I’ll let you know if they get back to me.
Now, about this black and white collection they are doing…
I’m not always nuts about Betili’s renditions of modern styles, but this is one they got fairly spot on.
Cute, stylish, trendy – but not so much that you will hate it next year. Like it. Not love it, mind you, but a strong like.
Again, nice pattern and good design. Could use this to add some life to an old all black set.
Another totally inoffensive peice that I could live with (in the right space with the right side tables, etc…)
Of course, they can’t get everything right…
I saw this and burst out laughing. Seriously, what in the world were they thinking? It’s a blooming floor lamp! (And I mean in the punny way mixing blooming in the British sense of the word.) Honestly, I still can’t look at it without giggling at the shear silly ugliness of it all.
I thought they might be attempting to copy something fabulous that I just haven’t seen yet, so I went to Mossonline and checked what they had – nope. Betili or Beitili, whoever you are – please, just stick with the black and white…

they actually have a whole series of those flower lights. i was looking for a painted metal flower chandelier for my daughter’s room and saw that had something like that online. i went to their store to see it in person and could not believe my eyes at what i saw. imagine that light in many different versions — chandelier, desk lamp, and yes, the floor lamp.
See, I’ve seen flower chandeliers when they are metal and painted and all old school looking which are great. But this?
How was it in person? Could you imagine what a nightmare it would be to dust?
it was just as bad in person… even kitschier. and the dust? my nose is running just thinking about it. with israeli penchant for a zero-tolerance dust environment (and rightly so as this is the desert…) i can’t imagine this being a great seller. but you never know!
Wait – this is their new collection? Sorry but the retro print was a trend that’s way, way over. Like sparkly glass walls, please please no more.
